Just as we thought things were getting back to normal… Lockdown comes again!
AppleCast again found ways to help our vulnerable families within our local community during this time. We did things such as Fresh food deliveries, Food Hampers, Afternoon Tea parcels and Ready-made meals.
Fresh Food Deliveries
As we entered more uncertain times, we opened up our food delivery service once again, to our local friends and neighbours who may be feeling anxious about shopping or are shielding at this moment in time.
Throughout October half term we delivered 80 Food Parcels to different families in Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Schools who we work with identified a range of families who would benefit from the parcels the most during the school holidays.
Afternoon Tea Hamper
To help senior citizens who are at high risk we developed “Afternoon smiles during in uncertain times”. Afternoon smiles allowed senior citizens to feel normal and enjoy something little in these uncertain times by offering sandwiches, scones, chutney and jam.
These came from the success of afternoon smiles. This was again aimed at the more vulnerable senior citizen who may be at high risk. A lot of these people can’t see family and we feel that a hot meal made and delivered would create a sense of satisfaction to uncertain times.
